Well-being consultation
Thrive provides well-being consultations for your organization or business. Our needs-assessment analyses are a “deep dive” into the emotional health and well-being of your students, staff, or team members. We have particular expertise in assessing students in graduate and post-graduate environments. In our needs-assessment analyses, we administer tailored questionnaires and focus groups that evaluate the emotional health and well-being of your organization or business. Our deliverable is a quantitative report that summarizes the current emotional health of the individuals in your organization. Additionally, we provide specific programming recommendations (i.e., workshops, groups, and/or individual coaching) to help your students or team members flourish and thrive. Please contact me for more details.

"Heather is the first person I contact when I need help with any kind of wellness issue for students in our graduate program. She does a wonderful job connecting with the students, in one-on-one meetings or larger group settings, and always provides thoughtful tips and advice."

"Dr. Heather Hersh... offered timely insight and perspective regarding the value of these conversations for engaging and retaining talent. She thoughtfully addressed the delicate balance between employee and organizational needs for creating a safe, supportive and inclusive work environment for all employees. Heather has a heart of gold with a mind as sharp as a sword. Webcast participants left the session with resources and actionable tips to enter uncomfortable conversations with empathy and compassion. Heather was extremely professional in all of her interactions with me and the forum planning committee during the course of coordinating her talk! She kindly accepted requests for topics/slide content and catered her presentation to our very specialized audience. She delivered the talk seamlessly and had the audience engaged throughout! She is an excellent public speaker and clearly an expert in her field. I highly recommend Heather and Thrive Wellbeing to any individual or department/institution seeking to start or further develop a compassion fatigue program!!!
Dr. Cecilia Dyer DVM, MS, DACLAM, Associate Director, Department of Veterinary Resources,
Resuscitation Science Center, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
"Heather gave an imposter syndrome workshop for graduate students at UPenn and it was very informative as well as encouraging. Heather was funny and easygoing throughout the workshop and made me feel comfortable to open up about my struggles with imposter syndrome. She gives good feedback about how to work with overcoming imposter syndrome but remains realistic about how it affects us all in our careers and personal life. I would 100% recommend Heather and am looking forward to attending more workshops with her."
Ana, PhD Student, University of Pennsylvania
"I look back on the time I spent working with Heather as one of immense growth and development, something that I attribute largely to her. As a counselor, Heather is incredibly observant and never failed to help me pin-point the root of my anxiety in a given situation. She always gives honest, kind feedback paired with actionable items that are tailored to a person’s needs. She is also very approachable and never judgmental; she pushed me without ever making me feel uncomfortable. She is a fantastic coach and counselor, and I would without a doubt recommend her to anyone I know!"
S.P., Student, University of Pennsylvania
"Heather Hersh is undeniably committed to sharing strategies for the betterment of others. In addition to hosting two thoughtfully composed imposter syndrome workshops formatted to cater to the needs of graduate students, Heather has now also committed to providing wellness consultation to further her contributions to us. When one of her workshops struck a chord for me, Heather quickly offered support, and her guided questions and kindness helped me reconcile my emotions mindfully and with comfort. I strongly recommend her to anyone that seeks her services, and look forward to working with her again."
Catharine, Ph.D. Student, University of Pennsylvania
“In spring 2020 I requested Dr. Hersh's expertise in helping our clinical team of vets and vet techs navigate the many challenges our staff were facing-- everything from difficulties posed to Essential workers during the pandemic, issues related to compassion fatigue, and heightened stress due to the civil unrest across the country. Our group met with her in small group discussion sessions over the course of several months, and the staff deeply valued their time with her. I strongly believe that she played a significant role in helping numerous members of our team manage during this extremely difficult time.”
Dr. Blythe Philips, VMD, Associate Director for Veterinary Care
ULAR, University of Pennsylvania
“Dr. Hersh provided a comforting network of support and guidance for myself and many of my coworkers during an exceptionally difficult time. Mental health has always been an important concept in my life and Dr. Hersh really helped me learn how to better care for myself and others around me with her compassionate nature. She provides tools and concepts tailored to individual needs and always shows understanding and care. Without a doubt, if you are seeking a greater sense of well-being with a knowledgeable and caring provider, I would recommend Dr. Hersh.”
